Guidelines for cabling and management

What do you have to keep in mind when planning efficient edge data centers? R&M answers this question in an advice article in the specialist magazine Connections No. 51, page 35.

Edge data centers usually consist of five to thirty racks. Because space is limited, Ultra High Density (UHD) FO solutions should be selected. Only cables with a high number of fibers should be used to ensure that plenty of resources are available. Conventional UHD solutions cannot keep pace with the expected growth rates.

In complex environments of this kind, it is a question of how to store, monitor and manage the large number of cables. A comprehensive and specialized monitoring solution is the answer here.
