SAIB places its trust in R&M Advisory Service

Customer: Société Arabe Internationale de Banque (SAIB), Cairo, Egypt
Project: Data center cabling, 2015.
Application: Network infrastructure for 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet, pre-terminated Cat. 6A and OM4 cabling, top of rack cable guidance system.

The Société Arabe Internationale de Banque (SAIB), founded in 1976, was planning a new data center in Cairo. From the very start, the passive infrastructure in the data center had to be designed in such a way that “move, add & change” (MAC) processes could be implemented easily and at low cost. The network had to support transmission rates of 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet.

Clearly defined deadline and budget requirements set out by the customer had to be met. Right from the very first planning meetings, it was clear that the expertise required went beyond simply providing the physical infrastructure.

The R&M Network Advisory Service was first called upon as a value-added solution. R&M collaborated with the technical team in Dubai and its sales and partner teams in Cairo in a series of intensive workshops to develop carefully prepared plans.

This enabled the teams involved to develop a network architecture that was perfectly matched to the bank’s needs, consisting mainly of Cat. 6A and OM4 cabling. The top of rack cable guidance system R&M Raceway makes it easier to implement MAC processes.

The certified local R&M partner, Equinox International, supported the project during site analysis, as well as in working out the technical details and drawing up the service specifications. Thanks to the use of fully pre-terminated cabling units from R&M, all of the bank’s requirements could be met within the deadlines. The installation work went smoothly and the customer was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it was completed.

SAIB Bank benefited from the wealth of experience of the R&M data center experts. Best practice solutions were incorporated in the planning stages. Once again, the use of precisely pre-terminated cabling systems proved to be a key factor in ensuring quick and seamless installation.
